When to use

• Anyone who lives in Chikushino City, or commutes to work or school in the city,
  or lives in a city or town within the wide-area use zone (Fukuoka metropolitan area), Ogori City, or Chikuzen Town, can apply for a card.
• To register, you will need to come to the office in person and provide proof of your name and address, such as a driver's license or health insurance card.
• The user card is only valid for the cardholder.
  The card is valid for three years. It must be renewed every three years. (For those who are employed or studying, the card is renewed every three years.)
  The card is also valid for the Mobile Library Tsukushinbo.

When borrowing

• Please present your library card at the "Borrowing" counter along with the books and audiovisual materials (CD/DVD display cases) you wish to borrow.

• We cannot lend out the latest issues of magazines or books with library stickers on them.

Extension of return deadline

If the item is not past due and has not been reserved by another person, you can extend your loan period for one two-week period. The person who originally borrowed the item should bring the book they are currently borrowing and apply at the counter or on the mobile library vehicle "Tsukushinbo-go." Those who have registered a password can extend their loan period themselves via the library's website or the material search machine in the library. However, loan periods cannot be extended for audiovisual materials or books borrowed from other libraries.

When returning

• Please return it to the "return area" at the counter. You do not need your card when returning it.
• When the library is closed, please place books, magazines and picture books in the book return post box located next to the library entrance.
• Please do not put audiovisual materials in the "book return post" but return them directly to the counter when the library is open.
  Also, please return books from other libraries that you have obtained through the interlibrary loan system (a system in which libraries lend and borrow materials at the request of users) to the counter.
• If any materials are not returned by the due date, you may no longer be able to borrow the materials.
• The exterior lights within Purple Plaza are turned off late at night, so please return books, magazines and picture books during daylight hours.
• If library materials are lost, damaged, or soiled, you may be asked to pay compensation in kind.

Request (Reservation)

• If you can't find the material you are looking for, please request it.
  Books/Magazines/Audio books/Picture stories: Up to 10 books (items)
  Audiovisual materials: 1 item *Audiovisual materials that are not in our collection cannot be requested.
  We will contact you as soon as they are ready.

Copy service

• With the exception of some materials, all materials in the library can be copied (for a fee).
  *Copying in the library is done in accordance with Article 31 of the Copyright Act. If you would like to make a copy, please inform the staff at the counter.

For people with disabilities

• Wheelchairs are available for physically challenged guests.
